The Accord Stones
Among their many monuments and relics that still dot the countryside, the Celtic people placed holed standing stones, Accord Stones, for the purpose of settling agreements. Parties would join hands through the stones sealing arrangements on trust and good faith.
The Accord Stones stood on common ground and were used by men and women, peasants and kings to settle disputes, trade deals, treaties and marriages.
Many have been lost to the sands of time.
Some are still in use today.
